Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque was built in 1996 and covers an area of almost 12 hectares. As you travel through the marbled halls, you’ll see gold-plated Swarovski chandeliers, marble mosaic artwork in the courtyard, and reflective pools that mirror the amethyst-and-jasper-embedded columns. You can admire the mosque’s four impressive minarets from the outside, which stand 106 meters high. People from all walks of life gather here to observe the architecture’s beauty and to learn more about religion and culture in the United Arab Emirates. Skilled teams from around the world designed and constructed the grand structure. A world-record-sized carpet was hand-knotted by 1,300 Iranian artisans.
